“Jamie Rozich understands the importance of communication, collaboration, and community partnerships,” said Cindi Nelson, vice president/senior director of healthcare marketing and sales for Life Care® Services (LCS). The newly appointed regional nurse liaison, Rozich is working with Shipley Living and Foulk Living in Wilmington, Delaware, and Millcroft Living in Newark, Delaware.
In her new role, Rozich is one of the first faces new residents see and one who is there with them during times of need at the senior living communities, which are operated by LCS.
A nurse for more than 20 years, Rozich has devoted her career to serving seniors. She’s earned certifications in assisted living administration, dementia care and personal care.
Rozich’s interest in working with older adults was fueled when she was in nursing school and worked in senior living communities as a certified nursing assistant.
“I love working with older adults. They have interesting stories,” she says.
One of Rozich’s responsibilities as regional nurse liaison is to oversee the admission of residents to the communities that each offer a continuum of care including independent living, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, and skilled nursing care.
“I meet with residents and their families to review their clinical needs,” Rozich says. “It’s an important responsibility, and I like that I am a face of the community.”
As she reviews clinical information, one of her goals is to see that each resident receives the appropriate level of care.
As part of meeting with potential residents and their families, Rozich says she wants to ease their worries during a time that can signal the beginning of a new chapter in life.
“I bring them a warm smile and a sense of relief,” she says. “I can answer their questions and I can be a point person for them.”
Rozich also is there when a resident needs to be admitted to a hospital.
“I try always to do a bedside visit with them,” she says. “We develop a relationship. I am there as a point of contact at a time when they may be scared.”
Rozich has worked with the three senior living communities in the past. She has successfully networked in the area and has an established relationship with area hospital partners.
Rozich is pleased to be working with the support of LCS and is also gratified by the staff at each community, all of whom workas a team and are committed to providing residents with the best care possible. She enjoys walking into each of the communities that she oversees. “It’s a welcoming feeling when you walk into any of these communities,” Rozich says. “They really care about their residents.”
