Seniors Participate in Sip and Paint at Foulk Living in Wilmington

Groups of people join together for guided creativity, socialization, and a sip or two of wine.

They’re rockin’ what is a popular trend. Residents of Foulk Living in Wilmington, Delaware, are participating in the senior living community’s latest artistic endeavor, Paint and Sip. In this trendy activity, groups of people join together for guided creativity, socialization, and a sip or two of wine. The typical results include a lot of chatting and laughter and an impressive work of art. “Our residents love arts and crafts. In addition to this program, they participate in scrap-booking, floral arranging, painting birdhouses, sewing, and more,” said Leslie Johnson, Executive Director of Foulk Living.

The community has taken its latest paint and sip event one step further, opening it up to staff and residents’ families as a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association. “It was a fun way to get everyone together, and we raised more than $200,” said Johnson. “This brings our total this year to $1,800.”  Foulk Living will have a team participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s at the end of the month.
